Rangsiman Rome pointed out that the arrest of the admin of the "Godd dam" page must adhere to legal facts. He urged police not to hastily link the case to any political party and called on them to fight crime swiftly and equally in all cases, not only those involving the prime minister.
On 26 Oct 2026 GMT+7, Rangsiman Rome, a party-list MP of the People’s Party and chairman of the Parliament’s Legal and Justice Commission, told Thairath TV regarding the police arrest of the admin of the popular Facebook page "Godd dam" earlier that morning, and reports that the individual was a former member of the Move Forward Party, that he currently has no data to confirm that the suspect was previously a party member.
However, if the suspect has indeed violated the law with clear evidence, I am willing and ready to support state agencies in fully enforcing the law. But this must be based on thorough verification, not just focusing on the page alone, but also extending to others previously mentioned as potentially engaging in illegal activities.
Rangsiman also questioned the attempts to link the suspect to the orange political faction, viewing such moves as political smears that have often occurred. He said rushing to claim this is a party-driven process is premature because an individual’s illegal actions cannot be attributed to the entire party. For example, if other crime suspects who have donated to political parties were all lumped together, then every party would be unfairly deemed guilty.
He added that the police’s swift action in this case is commendable but expressed a desire to see the same urgency and consistent standards applied in all public cases, not just those where the victim is the prime minister. This is essential for genuine public safety and upholding the principle that suspects retain full rights to defend themselves according to the justice process.
