‘Akranant’ Enlists Four Experts to Strengthen Rights, Freedom, and Safety Committee in Schools

Akranant strengthens the Rights Protection Center by appointing four experts in education, mental health, and criminology as committee members to enhance the mechanisms safeguarding rights and safety in schools.

On 26 Oct 2026 GMT+7, Akranant Kankittinan, Deputy Minister of Education and Chair of the Rights, Freedom, and Safety Protection Center, led a meeting to appoint four expert committee members to the Ministry of Education’s Rights, Freedom, and Safety Protection Committee. The aim was to recruit knowledgeable and experienced professionals from diverse fields to reinforce the center’s operations, covering education, mental health, child and youth development, and human behavior analysis, thereby elevating the comprehensive protection of rights, freedoms, and safety in schools.

The four individuals appointed as expert committee members are as follows:

- Ms. Linthiporn Warinwatcharorot, former Member of Parliament and former Deputy Minister of Education, with experience in politics and education policy.

- Mr. Paramee Waichongcharoen, known for his role in education reform and advancing education-related issues.

- Dr. Yongyut Wongpiromsanti, psychiatrist and mental health expert, playing a key role in mental health initiatives, child and youth development, and applying mindfulness curricula in organizations and education systems.

- Mr. Tarin Poraraksa, psychological criminologist, academic, and lecturer in the Department of Social Sciences, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities at Mahidol University, specializing in criminal behavior and body language analysis.

Akranant said the appointment of these four experts aims to bring diverse knowledge and expertise to support the Rights Protection Center’s work, ensuring comprehensive protection of rights and safety in schools, including problem prevention, assistance to affected individuals, and holistic care for children and youth.

“I want all the expert committee members to help enrich the center’s work with their knowledge and experience, allowing us to view problems comprehensively. We must not only assist after incidents occur but also emphasize prevention and establish effective care systems, especially to protect children and youth. Schools should be safe spaces where children can learn and grow confidently. When issues arise, there must be mechanisms ready to receive reports, coordinate assistance, and appropriately care for those affected,” Akranant said. Akranant added.

Bringing experts from various fields to work together is an important step in advancing the Rights Protection Center into a mechanism capable of handling issues comprehensively. It focuses not only on resolving incidents but also on prevention and risk reduction, enabling children and youth to learn, grow, and live safely in schools with reliable rights protection and support systems when problems occur.
