Ramadan Files Complaint Against Military IO for Photo Manipulation and Harassment of 4-Year-Old Son, Asserts Limits on Freedom of Expression

Ramadan brought evidence to Pattani City Police Station to file a complaint against a military Information Operations (IO) officer for photo manipulation and harassment of his 4-year-old son, asserting that freedom of expression must not cross the line into creating hatred or hostility towards others at the expense of respect.

On 26 October 2026 at Pattani City Police Station, Ramadan Panjor, a party-list MP from the Prachachon Party, filed a complaint with investigators regarding a military officer who disseminated manipulated images and altered video clips to attack, defame, and conduct information operations (IO) aimed at discrediting and spreading slander against him and the Prachachon Party continuously over more than two months.

Ramadan revealed that the worst offense was the manipulated distortion of messages and images involving his youngest son, only 4 years old, used to incite hatred. This is an unforgivable severity that clearly crosses the boundaries of freedom of expression and constitutes harassment of an innocent child, who is unrelated to political issues or adult conflicts. All children should be protected from violence in all forms.

Ramadan added that as a father, he must request police to exercise their legal authority to investigate and bring the perpetrators to full justice. At the same time, as a Member of Parliament, he reaffirmed that freedom of expression is a fundamental pillar of democracy and central to seeking solutions and building peace with public participation.

However, exploiting public communication platforms to distort facts in an attempt to link himself and the Prachachon Party to violence, as well as threatening the safety of himself and his family, is unacceptable and improper. He trusts the police will perform their duties impartially to bring the offenders to justice under the law, and he will update the public on any developments in the case.
