Srawong announced his candidacy in the Sa Kaeo Constituency 3 by-election, declaring his desire to return to parliament to be a voice for the local people and asked for the opportunity to serve again as their representative.
On 27 Oct 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Srawong Thienthong, deputy leader of the Pheu Thai Party and former representative for Sa Kaeo Constituency 3, spoke about Education Minister and Pheu Thai Party Secretary-General Prasert Chanruangthong's statement endorsing him for the by-election. He said he is ready and wishes to ask the public for a chance to return as their representative. When asked if he was concerned about trailing by 6,000 votes in the previous election, he responded.
Mr. Srawong acknowledged the vote gap but said he does not underestimate the challenge. He has consistently worked hard, especially during recent flood crises, visiting the area even when not a representative. He noted that Sa Kaeo has not received comprehensive aid and asked for the opportunity to return to parliament to be a voice for the people. Regarding concerns about political attacks over Thai-Cambodian border issues from the government of Yingluck Shinawatra's time, he said that Constituency 3 was not directly affected, the border communities have not been fully compensated, and the matter has not been raised in parliament. He wants to come back to parliament to be their voice once more.
