Ministry of Interior Appoints Committee Today to Investigate Official Involvement in Illegal Land Sale to Boom Panaddas Husband

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior appointed a fact-finding committee today regarding allegations that an official of the Ministry was involved in illegal land sales to “Boom Panadda's husband.” The result is expected within seven days. The official is a division director; if found guilty, they will not remain in the position.

28 Oct 2026 GMT+7 Mr. Arsit Sampanrat, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, commented on the case involving a Ministry of Interior official under the Office of the Permanent Secretary who sold land illegally to Mr. Athip Anantawan, husband of Ms. Panadda Wongphudee, also known as Boom Panadda. He said he has followed the news and today established a fact-finding committee chaired by Ms. Arocha Nanthamontri, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, with an initial timeframe of seven days.

He added that depending on the investigation's outcome, if wrongdoing is confirmed, a disciplinary committee will be formed. The official holds the position of division director (C8), a mid-level civil servant. If involved in misconduct, the Ministry will not allow them to remain in the post.

“We must first verify the facts about their involvement and whether the land sale actually took place, and how it is connected to Ms. Panadda’s husband. We need the truth to come out, and if wrongdoing is found, disciplinary action will follow.”
