The Prime Minister responded to critics of the "People's Solar Power" project, stating it offers only positive outcomes: reducing citizens' expenses, increasing savings opportunities, cutting electricity consumption from fossil fuels, and condemning those spreading misinformation to undermine and create public concern over trust in the country.
28 Oct 2026 GMT+7 Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Chanvirakul spoke after chairing the opening ceremony of the 19th National Health Assembly 2026 at the IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center, Muang Thong Thani, Nonthaburi Province, addressing the wave of criticism regarding the "People's Solar Power project" which some see as favoring large business operators. He said the project is entirely beneficial, helping to reduce the financial burden on citizens, increasing saving opportunities, lowering electricity use from fossil fuels, and promoting the use of renewable energy produced from natural sources.
Anutin further stated, “Those who criticize keep talking because they do no work, show no interest, and want to malign, spread misinformation, and undermine confidence among the public and those who trust the country. Isn't it good to build trust in the nation? Citizens use rooftop solar power, earn carbon credits, help reduce global warming, lower expenses, the government provides financial support—so what else? Honestly.”
