Victims can report damages to enter the verification and claim approval process per policy conditions. The government will coordinate closely with relevant agencies to monitor reporting and claims processing, ensuring affected citizens receive entitled coverage and minimizing the risk of individuals missing out on assistance.

"The government prioritizes caring for disaster-affected citizens by using insurance as a mechanism to ease financial burdens and provide security to impacted households. We are closely monitoring claim assessments to deliver timely and comprehensive assistance in line with policy terms," she said.

Emphasis on expedited initial assistance payment of 10,000 baht

Meanwhile, Ms. Ploytale Laksamee Sangchan, Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister’s Office, disclosed that following heavy rains in Phuket, the government has integrated efforts across agencies to mobilize resources for aid, expedite cleanup, and restore areas for residents, while progressing comprehensive relief efforts. Regarding initial relief under the National Disaster Insurance program effective from 1 Oct 2026, the government has urged insurance companies to promptly pay 10,000 baht compensation to those affected by flooding, flash floods, and landslides in Phuket to ease immediate hardships.

For further assistance under the national disaster insurance and government measures, which require time for data collection, the government advises victims to gather information and register for aid as per procedure. Authorities in affected areas have been instructed to facilitate swift access to rights so help matches the full extent of citizens’ losses.

"Residents affected by flooding in Phuket Municipality can register for disaster aid until 6 Nov 2026, from 9:00 to 16:30 at the Patong Municipality Elderly Club building. Those affected should prepare copies of their ID card, house registration, photos of damage, damage lists, and related documents such as rental agreements for tenants to support registration," she added.
