The National Security Council (NSC) is closely monitoring the situation in the Middle East and coordinating with relevant agencies to respond. It confirms it has never issued a warning for citizens to stockpile food or medical supplies for 72 hours and urges the public to receive information directly from government agencies.
On 29 October 2026, reporters reported that a Facebook pagecalled NSC insight, which is the spokesperson page of the National Security Council (NSC), posted images and statements clarifying reports about preparations for the Middle East conflict, specifically addressing claims that “The NSC has warned citizens to stockpile food, medical supplies, and essentials for 72 hours.”
The National Security Council would like to clarify the facts that the NSC Secretary-General and the office have not issued any announcement or requested citizens to hoard essential items. The NSC continues to monitor and assess impacts on national security and interests continuously, coordinating with relevant agencies to prepare appropriately. It urges the public to receive information directly from government sources. Should there be any significant developments, the NSC will inform the public accordingly.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defence spokesperson added that the NSC is still closely monitoring and assessing the Middle East conflict, coordinating with relevant agencies to prepare responses as appropriate. They request cooperation in disseminating accurate information to prevent misunderstandings and public alarm, and advise the public to rely primarily on credible government sources for updates.
