At 10:40 a.m. on 29 Oct 2026 GMT+7, at the Parliament, a session was chaired by Sopon Sarum, Speaker of the House. Patthapong Leelaphat, MP for Chiang Mai from the Prachachon Party, posed a live question to Suchart Chomklin, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, regarding electronic waste issues from the eastern floods. The public reportedly received warnings about toxins such as arsenic and lead from community sources, despite Suchart being appointed by the Prime Minister to lead flood relief in the east. However, no effective action was taken to restore the environment or hold polluting factories accountable. The MP asked what measures were implemented to control pollution during the floods, noting no orders from Suchart and that he had not attended any of the three environmental committee meetings this year.

Suchart Chomklin, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, clarified that he personally inspected the toxic waste issues and acted immediately. His ministry was the first to file complaints against factories causing rainbow-colored water pollution, pursuing civil lawsuits and coordinating with the Anti-Money Laundering Office to seize assets and enforce strict penalties. Regarding the rainbow-colored water caused by oil residue, the ministry investigated first and referred the problem to relevant agencies for legal enforcement. He explained that the environmental fund's money is legally restricted and cannot be used for restoring or disposing of industrial waste. He urged the MP to study the facts before speaking and questioned if Patthapong knew more than him. Suchart said he would wait to see if the MP could manage as well if he became minister. He added that Parliament should focus on public issues, not personal stubbornness, which he called 'entertainment dictatorship.'
