Chingchai Expresses Concern Over Myanmar Battle Shells Falling into Thailand, Damaging Homes and Injuring People Urges Government to Expedite Diplomacy

Chingchai expresses concern over repeated incidents of battle shells from Myanmar falling into Thailand, damaging homes and injuring residents. He urges the government to promptly use diplomacy to prevent the situation from escalating and causing additional harm to Thai people.

On 29 Oct 2026 GMT+7, Chingchai Koprapakit, MP for Tak from the Kla Party, said he is concerned about the fighting in Myanmar along the Mae Sot district border in Tak province. Shells from the conflict have fallen into Thai territory, affecting homes and public safety. He called on the government to urgently act through diplomatic channels to prevent escalation and further damage to Thai citizens.

Chingchai added that on 22 October, shells struck homes in Ban Mae Khun Kent, Village No. 9, Mae Sot district. Most recently, around 05:00, a similar incident occurred with shells from Myanmar landing in Thailand, and reports indicated that residents were injured.

"These ongoing incidents have caused fear among residents living along the border, who face risks to their lives and property from the conflict in the neighboring country, even while residing in Thai territory."

Chingchai urged the government to accelerate coordination and resolve the problem through diplomatic negotiations and appropriate cooperation mechanisms to prevent shells from crossing the border and causing damage in Thailand again. He emphasized the importance of seriously implementing safety measures for people living along the border.

He said the government should also work to build confidence among border residents so they can live safely, reduce anxiety, and prevent innocent people from being affected by conflicts occurring outside the country.
