Akkaradej Supports Prime Minister in Suing Ice Rakchanok, Urges MPs to Be Mature and Avoid Sharing False News

Akkaradej supports the Prime Minister in suing Ice Rakchanok, criticizing MPs for lacking maturity and sharing false news that infringes on others' rights. He appreciates that the public was not prosecuted.

On 29 Oct 2026 GMT+7, Akkaradej Wongpitakroj, MP for Ratchaburi from the Bhumjaithai Party, commented on the Prime Minister assigning lawyers to file charges against Rakchanok Srinok, a party-list MP from the People's Party. He stated he supports the Prime Minister pursuing legal action against anyone breaking the law, especially MPs who hold a position of public trust and thus must show maturity and responsibility in vetting information before posting or sharing.

Akkaradej said part of the country's unrest stems from the spread of fake news and unverified information sharing, not only in this case but others that could affect social order and national security as well.

Therefore, the Prime Minister's decision to take legal action here serves as a warning to those who might share or spread information to be responsible, especially MPs who should be particularly cautious not to distribute false or unchecked information as it could cause harm and violate others' rights.

"I thank the Prime Minister for setting an example that sharing information requires responsibility, and that one cannot just post or share anything without verification. If such behavior were tolerated, it might encourage others to do the same and cause further problems," Akkaradej said. . . .

Akkaradej also expressed gratitude that the Prime Minister prosecuted only the MP involved, not the public who shared the information. He noted that if it were someone else in the Prime Minister’s position, they might have also taken legal action against ordinary citizens who shared the MP’s information, causing hardship for people wrongly targeted by fake news. He urged all parties to be mindful of verifying facts before disseminating information publicly.
