Deputy Interior Minister Phonphee declared that the country must have clear property ownership with no exceptions; if wrong, wrongdoing must be addressed. This follows the Permanent Secretary of the Interior setting up a fact-finding committee to investigate officials involved in state land transactions linked to Boom Panadda's husband.
At 07:45 on 30 Oct 2026 at the Military Airport 2, Wing 6, Don Mueang, Bangkok, Deputy Interior Minister Phonphee Suwanchawee spoke about the formation of a fact-finding committee regarding officials from the Ministry of Interior involved in state land sales linked to Ms. Panadda Wongphudee, known as Boom, a famous host and actress. He said the Permanent Secretary of the Interior has formed a committee, and if ministry officials are found guilty or involved, they will be dealt with according to the law. Initially, there are no land title deeds issued by the Department of Lands for the area, as it is state land used by the military, so the military must take action. The state land is under the Ministry of Finance, which also has its own measures.
When asked how long the investigation would take, Phonphee said such matters should not take long. Whether past or present, it is known there may be involvement, depending on the committee set up by the Permanent Secretary of the Interior. He reaffirmed there will be no leniency: if wrongdoing occurred, it is wrongdoing; if encroachment occurred, it is encroachment. Such actions are unacceptable. The country must have clear property rights and comprehensive laws, so action must proceed accordingly.
