Government Boasts Rubber Prices in 2026 Reach Highest Level in 10 Years

The Deputy Government Spokesperson announced that rubber prices in 2026 have broken the highest record in 10 years. The government is accelerating market mechanism improvements, using technology to strictly control quality and prevent unregulated rubber, pushing prices to continue rising.

On 30 October 2026, Captain Phatdarasmi Thongsaluaykorn, Deputy Spokesperson of the Office of the Prime Minister, revealed the domestic rubber price situation for 2026. According to the Rubber Authority of Thailand's economic data, rubber prices this year have risen to the highest level in 10 years since 2015, as of 27 October 2026. Third-grade smoked sheet rubber reached a peak price of 97.90 baht per kilogram, raw sheet rubber 93.50 baht per kilogram, fresh latex 89.95 baht per kilogram, and 100% cup lump rubber was priced at 82.17 baht per kilogram.

The government, through the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, continues to manage the entire rubber system via the Rubber Authority of Thailand. This includes managing production volume, maintaining market balance, preventing unregulated rubber, and upgrading Thai rubber quality to increase farmers' opportunities to sell their products at fair prices and mitigate impacts from global market volatility.

The Deputy Spokesperson stated that the government has emphasized strict measures to suppress “unregulated rubber” to prevent it from increasing supply and pressuring Thai farmers' purchase prices. The Smart CESS system will be implemented in fiscal year 2027, employing GPS technology to track rubber movement and verify export fee data, alongside the operations of the Phra Pirun Operations Center and related agencies to monitor transport routes and enforce laws.

However, despite rising rubber prices, the government remains focused on ensuring farmers receive fair prices and steady income. This requires parallel efforts in managing production volume, developing market systems, and maintaining Thai rubber quality standards to remain competitive and meet long-term global market demands.

Captain Phatdarasmi added that rubber price trends in the fourth quarter of 2026 are expected to remain stable at high levels, with potential increases at times, according to RAOT forecasts. This is due to tight global rubber supply fundamentals combined with the government's proactive management measures.

Additionally, the Rubber Authority of Thailand promotes farmers' use of standard rubber coagulants and prevents improper chemical use or contamination that could affect product quality and buyer confidence. It closely monitors rubber demand and supply volume entering the market and continuously observes global market conditions. These efforts are part of the “Agricultural Innovation for Sustainable Thai Farmers” policy, which aims to enhance the rubber sector's efficiency in production, quality, and market mechanisms, enabling Thai farmers to benefit from market opportunities and secure stable income.
