Thanakorn mocks Thengs December no-confidence debate, urges opposition to prepare thoroughly

Thanakorn mocks Natthapong Ruangpanyawut's plan for the December no-confidence debate, saying it should fulfill the opposition's role with dignity, not act as a vengeful faction. He advises less pre-debate hype and more effort gathering information, emphasizing that the Prime Minister is not worried and is prepared to address all allegations.

On 31 October 2026, Mr. Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana, a party-list MP from Bhumjaithai Party and former Minister of Industry, commented on Mr. Natthapong Ruangpanyawut, party-list MP and leader of the Prachachon Party, who said that the no-confidence debate scheduled for 7-11 December would allow the opposition to gather more solid information over time. Thanakorn said it was good that Natthapong acknowledged the December debate would give the opposition more data, implying that if the debate were held earlier, the opposition would lack substantial facts and rely only on political rhetoric. He warned that forcing the debate prematurely would damage the opposition’s image with the public. Therefore, he hoped the opposition would reduce their hype and focus more on collecting facts, so the public awaiting the debate would not be disappointed.

Regarding Natthapong’s statement that the government respecting parliamentary mechanisms and responding to live questions or committee clarifications were important platforms not requiring waiting for the no-confidence debate, Thanakorn said Natthapong knows well whether the Prachachon Party has used committee meetings according to parliamentary procedures, and whether their questions genuinely seek facts or merely serve political criticism. The government is ready to clarify all policies if beneficial to the people, but if it’s to serve the political games of certain groups, the government prefers not to waste time and rather devote efforts to solving the public’s problems.

“The government is ready to respond to opposition allegations because under the leadership of Prime Minister Anutin, governance is people-centered, so there is nothing to worry about. This is even a good opportunity for the government to use this platform to clarify opposition accusations so the public can receive the true information. We hope the opposition will perform their role with dignity and act as a genuine opposition, not a vengeful faction. Any constructive proposals will be considered by the government to benefit the people. Importantly, the government will use this platform to explain its achievements, including many good projects to help the public,” said Thanakorn.
