Sutin Disbelieves Vote-Trading Rumors, Advises Careful Consideration on Including Kla Tham Party

Sutin disbelieves rumors about vote trading, saying it is unnecessary. He advises careful consideration on whether the public will accept bringing the Kla Tham Party in.

On 1 Nov 2026 GMT+7, Sutin Klangsang, party-list MP for Pheu Thai Party, said in an interview regarding rumors that former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra pressured the Social Peace Promotion Committee to accept an amnesty petition in exchange for votes in the no-confidence debate, that he considered these rumors untrue and fake news. He noted no credible sources confirmed this, such as insiders from the Bhumjaithai Party or members of the Social Peace Promotion Committee. He questioned who would be involved in such negotiations and said without a source, it was unlikely true. When asked whether there would be vote-trading for Bhumjaithai ministers, Sutin said no discussions had occurred and it was unknown when the debate would happen. Voting decisions must follow the debate content; they cannot be predetermined. Pheu Thai does not need to negotiate; currently, coalition parties are cooperating normally. Others would need to negotiate if any. The government is managing the country well with no issues.

He advised careful consideration regarding including the Kla Tham Party.

When asked if Bhumjaithai bringing Kla Tham into the coalition would serve as a power check, Sutin said that leading coalition parties must consider whether the new partner can govern well and whether the public will accept them. These matters should be considered before political maneuvers, as public rejection would weaken the government’s standing. Coalition partners currently work well together without problems. When Pheu Thai was the lead party, cabinet reshuffles were avoided unless necessary. If a reshuffle occurs, it must be based on administrative quality and public acceptance.
