Anutin to Lead Cabinet Meeting in Udon Thani and Nong Khai on 2–3 Nov, Advancing Drug Solutions

The Prime Minister will lead the Cabinet on-site in Udon Thani and Nong Khai on 2–3 November 2026 to inaugurate a heart disease center, lay the foundation stone for a new hospital, advance solutions for drug problems, and promote regional economic development. The government spokesperson's office has organized a media tour in advance to cover this.

On 1 November 2026, Mr. Ekaphop Pianpiset, spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, announced that Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul will lead the Cabinet to visit Udon Thani and Nong Khai provinces from 2 to 3 November 2026. The visit covers the upper northeastern provinces group 1—Udon Thani, Loei, Nong Khai, Nong Bua Lamphu, and Bueng Kan—to conduct inspections and chair the second official off-site Cabinet meeting of 2026 in Udon Thani. The focus is on driving development and addressing key issues in agriculture, drug problems, public health, water management, and living costs.

On Monday, 2 November 2026, the Prime Minister is scheduled to preside over the opening of the Metta Sukto Heart Disease Center at Nong Khai Hospital, enhancing timely access to cardiovascular diagnosis and treatment for people in Nong Khai and nearby areas. He will also chair the ceremony to hand over land-use certificates (KTH) under the government policy for consolidated plots in the Phan Phrao–Kaeng Kai national reserved forest area at Nong Khai Hospital, supporting community access to agricultural land under established criteria.

In the afternoon, the Prime Minister will preside over the foundation stone laying ceremony for the hospital and medical center construction project of the Praboromarajchanok Institute and the establishment of its Udon Thani campus. The project aims to develop a hospital providing quality, accessible healthcare, reduce service gaps, and train medical personnel to support the distribution of medical and public health staff in the region.

Following that, the Prime Minister will inspect the progress of the sustainable comprehensive drug problem strategy (Udon Model Plus) at the Udon Thani Social Rehabilitation Center and a psychiatric patient waiting center before reintegration. He will then preside over the opening of the Udon Thani International Horticultural Expo 2026 at Nong Daed Wetland under the theme “Diversity of Life: Connecting People, Water and Plants for Sustainable Living,” showcasing plant diversity, agricultural innovations, and human-nature relationships. The schedule is subject to change as appropriate.

On Tuesday, 3 November 2026, the Prime Minister will chair the second official off-site Cabinet meeting of 2026 at the Montathip International Convention Hall in Udon Thani. Before the meeting, he will visit provincial exhibitions, take a group photo with Cabinet members, governors from the upper northeastern provinces group 1, and representatives from government agencies before returning to Bangkok the same day.

Mr. Ekaphop added that this inspection and off-site Cabinet meeting will provide the government with opportunities to monitor problems and hear proposals from all sectors. This will guide development aligned with local needs, improve quality of life, increase economic opportunities, and effectively address issues impacting the public.

The spokesperson office will hold a media tour from 1–3 November to highlight Udon Thani's charm.

Second Lieutenant Phatdarasmi Thongsaluaykorn, deputy spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, revealed that the spokesperson office of the Prime Minister's Secretariat will organize a media tour from 1 to 3 November 2026. Twenty-nine media representatives from television, newspapers, and online outlets based at Government House will visit Udon Thani to showcase cultural tourism sites, local lifestyles, and traditional wisdom. The aim is to promote cultural heritage preservation alongside economic value creation and income distribution within communities. The tour will also follow the Prime Minister's activities in Udon Thani and Nong Khai, supported by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT).

The media group will visit the Pu–Ya Shrine in Udon Thani, an ancient Chinese shrine and spiritual center for Thai-Chinese and Udon Thani residents. They will then travel to Ban Non Kok community in Nong Na Kham subdistrict, Mueang Udon Thani district, to learn about the traditional weaving wisdom of the “Sai Than Nak Chiang Ruang” pattern, which the community preserves and develops into unique local products. Subsequently, they will follow the Prime Minister's inspection of the upper northeastern provinces group 1—Udon Thani, Loei, Nong Khai, Nong Bua Lamphu, and Bueng Kan—from 2 to 3 November 2026, including the official off-site Cabinet meeting on 3 November 2026 in Udon Thani. The focus will be on two major issues: agricultural and food product production and trade, and drug suppression, to drive regional development and solve problems affecting the public.
