It incorporates agricultural innovations such as Smart Farming and Precision Farming, extending into the wellness and herbal industries. Udonthani and other Northeastern provinces have advantages in these areas. The gardens represent the future and opportunity for the youth of Udonthani.
Yossanan also emphasized the importance of studying the entire agricultural value chain, from upstream to downstream, including processing agriculture, fertilizers, and tourism. He invited young people and their parents to attend this event, which is considered an opportunity for everyone.
During the Udonthani mobile Cabinet meeting, discussions will focus on plans after the World Horticultural Expo ends. Initially, there is a four-month period during which Udonthani residents and all Thais must act as good hosts to foster economic transformation toward higher-value agriculture.
Vatcharapol Khawkhum, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, stated that the 1,030-rai venue is 100% ready with buildings and horticultural displays. Comprehensive facilities are prepared, including golf carts and shuttle buses operating continuously throughout the day, connecting 13 highlight points to accommodate visitors. Regarding the current hot weather, which is usually the start of winter, the Meteorological Department forecasts cooler and favorable weather in Udonthani next week. He confirmed that all preparations are complete.
Regarding transportation, visitors can arrive by public transport to the event entrance, then walk across a bridge or use the shuttle golf carts serving 13 main points on a continuous loop from opening to closing hours. There is no need to worry about service quality. As this is the first day of service, any issues identified will be promptly addressed by the team.
Rapeepat Chantrasriwong, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, added that the National Economic and Social Development Council estimates that over the four-month event, at least 20 billion baht will circulate economically, generating income in secondary cities and Udonthani province. Furthermore, plans are being made to utilize the site after the event as a public space, allowing Udonthani residents and farmers to trade, showcase products, and present Thailand’s agricultural abundance to the world. The International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH) views this as more than just agriculture and gardens, as post-event the area will become a public space for all dimensions of community use and income generation through agricultural sales and exhibitions.
