Minister Julphan Amornwiwat revealed that the discussion with the 27 private sector companies in Udon Thani aimed to listen to their opinions and suggestions regarding labor demands, employment challenges and obstacles, as well as ways to promote employment. The goal was to define collaboration approaches between government and private sectors that align with business needs and increase opportunities for people to work in positions suited to their knowledge, abilities, and skills.
Julphan added that cooperation between the Ministry of Labor and the private sector is vital for planning workforce development aligned with market demands, including preparing new entrants and upgrading the skills of current workers. This ensures people have opportunities to work according to their potential and businesses can recruit personnel with the required qualifications, strengthening business competitiveness and supporting Udon Thani's economic growth.
Samat Patamasukon, Director-General of the Department of Employment, said the department is ready to collaborate proactively with the private sector to promote employment. He urged employers to continuously report job openings with required qualifications and skills to enhance job matching efficiency and prepare positions for students about to graduate, recent graduates, unemployed persons, those seeking job changes, and those affected by layoffs. The labor demand data will be analyzed and used to coordinate skill development initiatives that meet business needs, helping to reduce labor shortages and increase suitable job opportunities for the public.
