Warawut Reports Results of Inspection on 80 Industrial Waste Disposal Factories One Temporarily Shut Down, 63 Ordered to Improve

Warawut revealed that the special task force dispatched to inspect industrial waste disposal factories covered 80 factories on the first day, ordering one to temporarily suspend operations and 63 to make improvements, affirming ongoing efforts.

On 3 Nov 2026 GMT+7, Warawut Silpa-archa, Minister of Industry, received reports from Pasakorn Chairat, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Industry; Pornyos Klankrong, Director-General of the Department of Industrial Works; and Decha Jatuthananan, head of the task force for strict law enforcement and supervision. They stated that the Ministry of Industry had launched operations to strictly inspect, supervise, and enforce laws on factories numbered 105 and 106 to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards, targeting 3,049 factories.

On the first day, operations were conducted in Group A areas across five provinces: Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong, Prachinburi, and Samut Prakan. Ten teams were assigned per province, totaling 50 teams, each led by a Ministry of Industry inspector. The effort received cooperation from related agencies including the Department of Industrial Works, the Internal Security Operations Command, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Ministry of Interior, and especially local administrative organizations.

Inspections covered 80 factories: 26 from factory group 105, 52 from group 106, and 2 others including a metal scrap compression plant and a plastic product melting factory. The inspections found grounds to issue orders under the Factory Act B.E. 2535 (1992) and its amendments, resulting in one factory being ordered to temporarily cease operations and correct violations under Section 39 paragraph one, and 63 factories being ordered to make improvements under Section 37 paragraph one.

Additionally, the central special task force reviewed data on three factories pending closure orders that would revoke their licenses. These factories are located in Samut Prakan, Chonburi, and Chachoengsao provinces, with actions expected to be completed soon.

Warawut stated this was the first large-scale inspection by the special task force, resulting in intensive factory checks. He emphasized that all task force members must work with determination, make courageous decisions within legal frameworks, prioritize national interest, and consider public safety. The task force will continue operations until all targets are met, with strict enforcement of relevant laws reaffirmed.
