The Constitutional Court will hold an oral hearing and vote on the case to revoke the election rights of Kongkiat Ketsombat, former MP of the Kla Tham Party, on 25 November.
On 3 November 2026, the Constitutional Court held a consultation on the case filed by the Election Commission requesting the court to rule under the 2018 Organic Act on the Election of Members of the House of Representatives, Section 54, Paragraph 2, to revoke the election rights of Kongkiat Ketsombat.
The Election Commission (the petitioner) filed the petition under Section 54, Paragraph 2 of the 2018 Organic Act on the Election of Members of the House of Representatives to revoke Kongkiat Ketsombat's (the respondent) election rights because he knowingly ran for election while ineligible and concealed or failed to disclose that he had a final conviction for theft under Section 335, Paragraph 1 (1) of the Penal Code. The respondent has submitted a defense statement to the Constitutional Court.
After deliberation, the Constitutional Court found there was sufficient evidence to decide the case and thus terminated the investigation under Section 58, Paragraph 1 of the 2018 Organic Act on Constitutional Court Procedure. The court ordered the parties to submit written closing statements by Wednesday, 18 November 2026. Failure to submit by the deadline will be taken as waiving the right to do so.
The Constitutional Court set the issues for consideration and scheduled an oral hearing, consultation, and vote on Wednesday, 25 November 2026, at 09:30, with the verdict to be announced at 14:00 the same day in the courtroom on the 3rd floor of the Constitutional Court building at the Government Complex Commemorating His Majesty the King's 80th Birthday Anniversary, 5 December 2007, Ratchaburidirekrit Building.
