3 Nov 2026 GMT+7 Ms. Phakmon Non Anan a party-list MP from the People's Party (PPP) shared news viaFacebook. She posted regarding the case of Mr. Sophon Sarum, chairman of the National Assembly and House of Representatives, who ordered the revocation of the authority of committee chairs to summon individuals for explanations at their discretion, stating that the parliament chairman is shamelessly acting as a servant to his superior. Committee powers are almost the only authority the legislature has. Each investigation serves to check matters for the benefit of the people.
Ms. Phakmon added that if the parliament chairman interferes with the powers of committee chairs, the only answer is that he does not want investigations into the Bhumjaithai Party, protecting the blue faction and Buriram at all costs. This is an excessive abuse of power.
