Prime Minister Anutin sweetly expressed that he feels fortunate to have Pheu Thai as a coalition partner, boasting that they have moved beyond doing things for the security of his position and now work for the country. Yoschanan pointed out the necessity for the government to complete a full 4-year term.
At 11:00 AM on 3 November 2026, at the Montathip Hall conference center in Udon Thani Province, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul was interviewed about singing “Chai Loei” (“Exactly”) at a dinner before the official offsite Cabinet meeting (Cabinet Retreat). The song’s lyrics say “70 is just right,” implying the government no longer needs to bring in the Kla Party. He said that during the Cabinet retreat, when everyone stays overnight, they have meals together, aiming to create a friendly atmosphere. He emphasized that reports about problems or ultimatums among coalition partners are untrue.
Anutin added that they are fortunate to have competent coalition partners like Pheu Thai. The two parties work together without claiming individual credit; it is the government’s collective achievement, mandated by the people. Without prior arrangement, their meetings include joking and genuine friendship, occurring mainly during offsite meetings held every two to three months. This fosters increasing familiarity and good relations, and nothing more should be read into it.
Regarding whether the strong unity between the two coalition parties means there is no need to add other parties, Anutin said that every government must maintain stability to drive policies and operations benefiting the people and country. Any mechanism to achieve this is open, but must be based on good understanding among all parties. The government does not act for anyone’s personal benefit or to secure the Prime Minister’s position. He affirmed he is beyond that point, and the Cabinet ministers share the sole goal of national prosperity, peace, and improved quality of life for the people.
A reporter asked Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation Yoschanan Wongsawat, a Pheu Thai leader, whether the party’s confidence in passing the no-confidence vote was assured. Yoschanan said the economy is at a critical juncture and improving. He believes government stability is essential and clear communication is needed in each ministry about civil service stability and long-term budget planning. Foreign observers, especially after the recent IMF-World Bank 2026 meeting, respect Thailand. The current event in Udon Thani relates to the World Horticultural Expo and long-term development projects for the Northeast. For the government to complete a full 4-year term is crucial, reflecting the country’s context and future progress.
Meanwhile, Anutin spoke about preparations for a protest where groups plan to bring 1,000 vehicles to the Government House on 5 November. He noted that economic indicators are improving, with prices for major agricultural products rising. The government is ready to listen to all voices that are reasonable and beneficial and is willing to act accordingly. Such demonstrations are a form of communication, and the government confirms readiness to listen and find solutions.
Regarding reports that provincial governors and police were ordered to block protesters from traveling, Anutin denied this, saying officials were instructed to fully facilitate without pressure. Protesters exercising their constitutional rights should be supported by the government, but all actions must comply with the constitution and law without causing trouble to others. If protesters come with reason, intention, and data to communicate problems for government action, the government is ready. Anutin himself has met with such groups before.
