The government revealed that the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has transformed the "Mega Event" into a "Mega Opportunity" by using the Cabinet Roadshow and the 2026 Udon Thani Horticultural Expo to create new demand and position Udon Thani as a tourist destination.
3 Nov 2026 GMT+7 Ms. Ploytale Laksamee Sangchan, Deputy Government Spokesperson, stated that the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is moving forward by taking advantage of the second Cabinet Roadshow of 2026, and the 2026 Udon Thani Horticultural Expo, as key platforms to raise awareness, expand reach, and convert “visibility” into “inspiration to travel” to Udon Thani province.
Over the three days from 1 to 3 November 2026, TAT conducted strategic marketing communications through Influencer Marketing with the Deputy Government Spokesperson team to drive tourism and grassroots economy in Udon Thani. The One Day Trip route “Udon Thani: Bloom, Weave & Vibe” showcased the charm and identity of Udon Thani through Thai-Chinese cultural tourism, traditional community weaving lifestyle, revitalizing Thai silk trends, and supporting the community economy.
On 2 November 2026, participants attended the opening ceremony of the “2026 Udon Thani Horticultural Expo” at the Nong Daed Wetlands in Mueang District, under the concept “Diversity of Life: Connecting People, Water, and Plants for Sustainable Living.” TAT organized a tourism promotion exhibition at the entrance and ticket sales area, highlighting the “5 Must Do in Udon Thani” theme. A featured experience was the Must Taste dish “Miang Klib Bua” served during the dinner for the Cabinet members.
On 3 November 2026, TAT took Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce Supachai Suthammanont to visit the “Red Lotus Sea” tourist attraction to boost the potential of nature tourism and elevate it towards innovative tourism goals, aiming to create economic opportunities and increase income for local people. At the Cabinet Roadshow venue, TAT participated in tourism promotion activities presenting the concept “5 Must Do in Udon Thani.” They decorated the promotional booth to convey the province’s charm through diverse tourism activities, including:
The booth also offered Udon Thani salted fresh milk ice cream and Red Lotus tea for the Prime Minister and Cabinet members to taste the unique flavors of Udon Thani.
“The government is confident that the second Cabinet Roadshow of 2026 and the 2026 Udon Thani Horticultural Expo will mark a significant milestone that helps drive balanced and sustainable growth in Thailand’s tourism economy,” the spokesperson said.
