Anutin Confident Government Majority Will Pass No-Confidence Debate

Anutin boasts of the government's stability and confidence in passing the no-confidence debate, aiming to build constructive politics. He emphasizes that oversight is not prohibited but must be based on facts, not spreading fake news.

On 4 Nov 2026 at 09:15 at Paragon Hall, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, chaired the opening ceremony of THE STANDARD ECONOMIC FORUM 2026 and delivered a keynote speech titled “Reinvent Thailand.” He summarized that “Reinvent Thailand” is an interesting theme, not just about creating something new but about examining existing elements to innovate and enhance their use and efficiency, effectively overhauling Thailand. He felt fortunate to have led the top-ranking party in the election, giving the government a stable majority and effective working capacity. He hopes the government will successfully pass the no-confidence vote, confident that the cabinet is working diligently and can answer members of parliament’s doubts and accusations. Frequent international trips have helped him understand global directions and what is best for the country. For Thailand to have a firm standing on the world stage, it must be self-reliant, building security in energy, food, and defense industry to cope with external volatility and competition.

Mr. Anutin stated that thekeynote speechtoday will address three topics: energy security, including recent progress in community solar projects giving people energy choices; transforming the economic engine by reinventing technology through modern agriculture, food technology, defense industry, semiconductors, and data centers. The government must facilitate this transition and human capital development because change cannot be sustainable if people lack opportunities to adapt. Another driving force for Thailand’s rapid, stable, and sustainable progress is to reinvent politics, aiming to create a positive political climate. Currently, politics remain negative and conflict-ridden, focused on power struggles. Everyone wants to govern, which is understandable, but rules must exist—not doing everything just to bring down one side to elevate oneself without regard for rules or the public good. We must reinvent politics by fostering a new political culture. Good politics enables constructive dialogue, not insults, sarcasm, or demeaning rhetoric.

He emphasized openness to oversight based on evidence, not fake news.

Mr. Anutin said that with good politics, we can hold each other accountable based on facts, not spreading fake news or unverified hearsay. Good politics means each side acts with the goal of advancing the country faster, not how to disgrace or despise opponents to delay or disrupt smooth governance. He clarified that he does not mean to forbid criticism or oversight, which are impossible in a democratic society. The goal is to prioritize the nation and its people, practicing constructive politics and communicating with creativity and facts. Overhauling Thailand is not just the government’s duty or any single group’s but requires joint thinking and combining the strengths of all sectors to complete the puzzle for Thailand’s stability in the new economic world.
