Phawut Reports to Prosecutors in Forex Share Fraud Case, Firmly Denies Involvement

Phawut reported to prosecutors in the Forex share fraud case, expressing strong confidence because he has never conducted Forex business nor deceived or solicited anyone.

On 5 Nov 2026 at 09:00, at the Office of the Attorney General on Ratchadaphisek Road, prosecutors from Special Case Office 4 scheduled a hearing on the Forex share fraud case involving multiple suspects, including Phawut Pongwittayaphanu, a People’s Party party-list MP, and Ratthapoom Tokongsap (Film) and associates.

Phawut Pongwittayaphanu arrived with his legal team to report as scheduled and spoke to the media about case developments. He revealed that he had submitted a petition to prosecutors requesting additional witness examinations because many parties are involved. He expects the prosecutor is likely still conducting these examinations, which will take time, so the case hearing today might be postponed again.

Regarding confidence in the evidence, Phawut affirmed he is very confident because he did not conduct Forex business nor deceive or solicit anyone. He has consistently maintained his innocence. All evidence, especially financial trails, is ready to be fully explained. If the prosecutor decides to file charges, his legal team has prepared bail assets and plans in various forms in advance. Among the suspects, about 24 individuals are involved, excluding juristic persons or organizations.

Additionally, Phawut remarked on the case process compared to other politicians and MPs from opposing sides, noting that despite many people being involved, his case has proceeded quite swiftly, with the case file quickly sent to prosecutors for indictment preparation. In contrast, cases on the other side of politics have seen less progress. He observed that while others’ cases are only at the stage of potential asset seizure, his assets have already been seized, as in the case of Khun Boom, highlighting an apparent disparity in standards. He personally wonders if this difference is because he is from the opposing faction, not sharing the same political color, which might explain the differing speed and legal measures.
