The Department of Provincial Administration has urgently sent a letter to the superintendent of Nang Loeng Metropolitan Police Station to prosecute the Doing Good Foundation and related individuals for unauthorized fundraising to assist flood victims.
On 5 Nov 2026 GMT+7, the Department of Provincial Administration, Ministry of Interior, issued an urgent letter to the superintendent of Nang Loeng Metropolitan Police Station to file a criminal complaint against the Doing Good Foundation and related parties. This follows detection of social media posts inviting public donations for flood victims without evidence of legal permission to conduct fundraising, violating the 1946 Fundraising Control Act.
Following an investigation, the department found the Facebook account named "Doing Good Foundation" had posted messages and images encouraging the public to contribute funds to aid flood victims, providing a Kasikorn Bank account under the foundation's name for donations. Subsequently, the Investigation and Legal Affairs Office (Foundation and Association Registration Section) checked the government management system for public order and service (fundraising section) and found no record of any fundraising permit application or license for the Doing Good Foundation or its board members.
The Department of Provincial Administration concluded that activities inviting public donations of money or assets—even for disaster relief or public benefit purposes—must comply with legal criteria and conditions, including obtaining prior permission from the Fundraising Control Board before proceeding.
Therefore, these actions constitute a violation of the first paragraph of Section 6 of the 1946 Fundraising Control Act, which prescribes penalties under Section 17 of the same Act. Consequently, an urgent letter was sent to the superintendent of Nang Loeng Metropolitan Police Station—the jurisdiction where the offense occurred—to file a criminal complaint for investigation and prosecution of the Doing Good Foundation and related individuals following legal procedures until the case is resolved. The authorities were also requested to expand investigations and, if other legal violations are found, to take appropriate action within their authority.
