The public has responded positively to the “Ban Khon La Lang PLUS” program, with registrations surging to 11,430 applicants requesting loans totaling more than 34.29 billion baht. The government supports citizens in accessing home purchase and construction loans with special interest rates and repayment terms up to 40 years.
On 6 Nov 2026, Ms. Lalida Pertwiwatana, Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister’s Office, revealed that the “Ban Khon La Lang PLUS” housing loan project continues to attract public interest. The Government Housing Bank (GHB) reported that as of 1 Nov 2026, 11,430 applicants had registered to receive codes to apply for loans, totaling 34.29 billion baht, which is 68% of the project's 50 billion baht funding limit. This reflects strong public demand for access to financing to own their own homes.
The government, through the Ministry of Finance, has driven this measure to increase opportunities for citizens, especially low- and middle-income earners, to access housing loans to buy or build homes priced up to 3 million baht. The loans offer relaxed terms and special interest rates aligned with borrowers’ repayment capacity, with initial rates between 2.60 and 2.80% per annum for the first two years depending on borrower qualifications, and repayment terms up to 40 years. For example, a 1 million baht loan would require a starting monthly payment of only 3,600 baht.
Ms. Lalida added that this measure not only helps people become homeowners but also links to various economic activities, including construction, building materials, employment, and housing-related goods and services. On 2 Nov 2026, Mr. Akiniti Nititanprapas, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, presided over the loan distribution ceremony for approved GHB customers under the Ban Khon La Lang PLUS program during a government policy monitoring meeting in Udon Thani province. This highlights the concrete implementation of policy benefits reaching the public.
“The government aims to support widespread access to housing loans, reduce financial burdens, and increase opportunities for Thai people to own their homes,” she said.
Interested citizens can register through the GHB Buddy application to receive a code until 30 Dec 2030 or until the project’s funding limit is reached. They can then use the code to apply for loans at any GHB branch nationwide. For more details, contact the G H BANK Call Center at 0-2645-9000.
