"Rom" reaffirms that the legal committee's unanimous 7-0 vote to summon the Prime Minister for clarification is lawful. He insists he will not allow the House to become 'blue' like the Senate. He refutes allegations of secretive or improper voting as untrue and baseless.
At 4:30 p.m. on 6 Nov 2026, Rangsit Rom, party-list MP from the People's Party and chairman of the parliamentary legal committee, posted on Facebook regarding the case where Supachai Jaisamut and others held a press conference before noon about the legal committee's unanimous 7-0 vote to summon Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul to explain to the House after failing to comply with the summons authority. This was due to not ordering Narucha Khosasivilai, Director-General of the Department of Provincial Administration, to appear before the legal committee investigating local examination fraud. Rom confirmed that the committee vote on 5 Nov at 4 p.m. was correct and compliant with regulations. At that time, the legal committee had 14 members because some from the Bhumjaithai Party had resigned. The majority vote required was over half, meaning 7 votes. Thus, the 7-0 vote was valid under the rules.
"I learned later that the name of the person appointed to replace the vacant legal committee position was changed after 5 p.m. in the parliamentary meeting room, which was after the legal committee's vote had concluded. It is therefore clear that during the vote, there were 14 committee members, making the majority 7 votes."
He declared he will not allow the House to turn blue.
Rangsit posted that allegations of secretive or improper voting are slanderous and unfounded. He said, "If you want to defend your government against corruption allegations, do so with truth and evidence, not by undermining democracy or the parliamentary oversight system. I also warn all civil servants not to be pawns or tools for the 'blue thief' faction. This kind of power will never last because when this regime has used people like you up, or when pressured, it will definitely discard the civil servants who serve it to save itself. Don't hope to seize control and turn the House into a 'blue House.' It won't be as easy as the Senate because we will never accept it."
