ONCB Collaborates with AITF to Randomly Inspect Passengers and Luggage on International Flights

The Office of the Narcotics Control Board (ONCB) collaborates with the Airport Interdiction Task Force (AITF) to strengthen controls at Don Mueang Airport by conducting random inspections to disrupt international drug trafficking routes.

On 6 Nov 2026 GMT+7, ONCB deployed officers to work alongside units under the Airport Interdiction Task Force (AITF) cooperation project, which includes ONCB, the Customs Department, the Narcotics Suppression Bureau, and other relevant agencies. This also involved Don Mueang Airport authorities and AirAsia airline security personnel. They implemented measures to inspect passengers and baggage on both inbound and outbound international flights using random baggage checks supported by drug detection dogs (K9) to enhance the effectiveness of inspections and interdiction. No illegal items were found during the searches.

ONCB and partner agencies will continue integrating cooperation to conduct random inspections and surveillance at Don Mueang Airport. They will also analyze intelligence to assess behavior patterns and risk levels to identify high-risk individuals and countries for drug smuggling. This approach aims to facilitate targeted inspections and proactive operations efficiently.

They reaffirm their commitment to advancing proactive measures under the drug war plan by uniting all relevant agencies to intensify surveillance and interdiction across all trafficking channels. The goal is to dismantle drug networks and prevent Thailand from becoming a transit route for international drug trafficking.
