Supachai Accuses Rom of Using Legal Committee as a Political Weapon, Calls Future Bleak and Pitiful

Supachai accused Rom of using the Legal Committee as a tool for political destruction, insisting that resolutions require 8 votes. He warned against letting rhetoric override the law, mocking Rom's bleak future as pitiful and regrettable.

7 Nov 2026 GMT+7 Supachai Jaisamut Member of Parliament (party-list) from Bhumjaithai Party, responded sharply. Rangsiman Rome Party-list MP from the Prachachon Party and chair of the House Legal, Justice and Human Rights Committee, after affirming the committee's resolution as valid, Supachai stated:

I thank Rangsiman Rome for affirming the legality of the Legal Committee's vote, even though many facts I presented were significantly misrepresented. This raises my question: Is Rangsiman’s goal as chair of the Legal, Justice, and Human Rights Committee to conduct impartial legal oversight or to use the committee as a political weapon?

The key point to clarify is that the committee has 15 members, not 14 as Rom claimed. If the rules require a majority of all members, at least 8 votes are needed, not 7. Even if we accept Rom’s claim of 14 members, a majority still requires 8 votes because 7 out of 14 is exactly half, not a majority.

Importantly, the committee secretary raised concerns about the process and vote validity, yet the chair insisted on proceeding. Given this, one must ask if the chair is exercising authority fairly and respecting rules, or arbitrarily pushing for a desired outcome. Rules are rules—not to be interpreted at will to achieve political goals.

Accusations of a "blue regime" only reveal Rom’s obsession with political color divides. I wonder if he is trying to turn the Legal Committee into a tool of the "orange regime" to stir support and popularity among his base. The Legal Committee is not Rangsiman’s personal property nor a platform for any party’s electioneering.

The House of Representatives is a legislative body responsible for making laws. Those serving must strictly respect laws and rules, especially the Legal Committee chair who oversees legal violations. Respect for the law must begin with oneself.

"Don’t use 'oversight' as a pretext for arbitrary power, and don’t let political rhetoric override parliamentary rules. The House must be governed by law, not by emotions, hatred, or any chairperson’s political colors. I clearly see Rom’s bleak future—pitiful and regrettable."
