Viroj sharply criticized Speaker Sopon, comparing his performance to the eras of Chuan and Wannor. He pointed out that the Speaker's chair can only provide a seat, but cannot elevate one's stature in the eyes of the public.
On 7 November 2026, Mr. Viroj Lakkhanaadisorn, former party-list MP and deputy leader of the Prachachon Party, posted on Facebook that how well Mr. Sopon Sarum performs as Speaker of the House is not judged by self-praise or compliments from the so-called “blue vest followers,” as their flattery carries less weight than the feedback from the public.
Viroj stated that the public has discernment and can compare Sopon's conduct—including his duties, discretion, maturity, demeanor, and use of power—with former Speakers such as Mr. Chuan Leekpai and Professor Wannor.
“I would advise Mr. Sopon to listen more to the public’s voice. Then he might understand that respect is not something that comes automatically with a position, nor something that can be demanded from anyone. The Speaker’s chair may elevate Sopon’s physical seat, but it’s curious that it cannot raise his standing in the eyes of the public,” Viroj said.
