The "Local Exam 68," a competitive examination to recruit local government officials and employees for the year 2025, has been completed. The general knowledge section (Part A) and the position-specific knowledge section (Part B) were held on Sunday, 7 December 2025, from 09:00 to 11:00 and 13:00 to 15:30 at testing centers nationwide, except for the Southern Region centers in zones 1 and 2, where the exam has been postponed indefinitely due to flooding. The competitive exam consists of three parts, detailed as follows.

1. General Knowledge and Ability Section (Part A), full score 100 points.

This is a multiple-choice exam designed to assess the knowledge and abilities required for the job level, detailed as:

  • (1) Analytical and Reasoning Ability, full score 30 points.

This tests the ability to analyze and summarize reasoning by summarizing or identifying key points in texts or stories; analyzing events or summarizing political, economic, or social reasoning; predicting trends or changes based on data or hypotheses; or other reasoning analyses. It may test one or multiple of these abilities.

  • (2) Basic Knowledge for Civil Service, full score 30 points.

This tests knowledge of laws and regulations governing administration, including laws on the establishment and powers of provincial administrative organizations, municipalities, subdistrict administrative organizations, and Pattaya City; laws on planning and decentralization to local governments; personnel administration laws for local government; regulations on document handling; good governance; administrative procedures; and other related regulations, as well as attitudes and ethics for civil servants or local government employees.

  • (3) Thai Language, full score 20 points.

This tests knowledge and ability in using the Thai language, including summarizing or interpreting short texts or articles, selecting appropriate language forms from words, phrases, sentences, or short texts, or other suitable tests to assess language proficiency.

  • (4) English Language, full score 20 points.

This tests basic English language knowledge and skills, including reading, summarizing, interpreting, or other appropriate assessments for the relevant abilities.

2. Position-Specific Knowledge Section (Part B)Full score 100 points.

This is a multiple-choice exam where candidates must demonstrate knowledge and abilities specific to the duties of the position they are applying for.

3. Suitability for Position Section (Part C), full score 100 points.

This evaluates the candidate’s suitability for the position based on personal history, educational background, work history, observed behavior, and interviews. Additional methods may be used to assess various aspects such as knowledge relevant to job performance, abilities, experience, manner of speech, temperament, attitude, ethics, morality, adaptability to colleagues and environment, creativity, quick thinking, and other personality traits.

All candidates must take Part A and Part B first. Those who pass Parts A and B according to the criteria must then submit documents to take Part C.

Passing Criteria for "Local Exam 68"

Candidates must score at least the minimum passing score in Part A (General Knowledge and Ability), including a minimum of 50% in the English language section. Those who pass Part A will receive a certificate issued by the central committees for provincial, municipal, and subdistrict administrative organizations.

This certificate can be used for other competitive local government recruitment exams administered by the Central Committee for Local Government Employee Examinations (กสถ.) indefinitely, unless otherwise specified by the committees for provincial, municipal, and subdistrict organizations.

Candidates who receive the Part A passing certificate for positions requiring a bachelor's degree can also use it to apply for positions requiring less than a bachelor's degree. Successful candidates must also score at least 60% in both Part B (Position-Specific Knowledge) and Part C (Suitability Assessment).

Ranking List of Successful Candidates

Successful candidates are listed by regional group as submitted during application. Scores from Part B and Part C are combined, and candidates are ranked from highest to lowest total score within each group.

In case of tied total scores, the candidate with the higher score in Part C ranks higher. If Part C scores are also tied, the candidate who paid the exam fee earlier ranks higher, based on payment documentation.

The ranking list is valid for up to 2 years from the announcement date. If a candidate is called for appointment within this period but is awaiting approval for appointment, the validity may be extended by up to 30 days, based on postal or official receipt evidence.

When Will the "Local Exam 68" Results Be Announced?

2. The ranking list announced by the Central Committee for Local Government Employee Examinations (กสถ.) is final. Candidates have no right to request a review. The committee conducts examinations with honesty and fairness.

Report such cases to the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), the Office of Public Sector Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC), the Anti-Corruption and Misconduct Suppression Division (Bureau of Anti-Corruption), the Central Committee for Local Government Employee Examinations (กสถ.), the Director-General of the Department of Local Administration, or the provincial local government office.
