Most recently, on 23 Dec 2025 GMT+7, the Facebook pagePublic Relations Center of the 1st Infantry Battalion, 21st Infantry Regiment, King's Guardrevealed the courageous acts of Sergeant Major Kampanat Thongsaeng in the battlefield. It stated that at the Ban Khlong Phaeng battlefield, at 10:45 a.m., Sergeant Major Kampanat Thongsaeng, nicknamed Non, serving as an armored vehicle driver, received a radio warning inside the vehicle that the enemy was about to fire BM21 rockets at their position.
Because Sergeant Major Kampanat Thongsaeng was concerned for the younger soldiers, he dismounted from the armored vehicle to warn them to get inside the vehicle and take cover. He waited to board last. While he was boarding, a BM21 rocket landed beside the vehicle on the side where he was getting on, causing him to be wounded by shrapnel. His comrades administered first aid and rushed him to the hospital, but the shrapnel hit a critical area.
Sergeant Major Kampanat Thongsaeng sacrificed even his own life so that his fellow soldiers could survive.
We, the members of the Little Tigers unit, honor and pay tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of Sergeant Major Kampanat Thongsaeng in this battle.
