In the case of violent behavior toward resident doctors, the fact-finding committee at Thammasat University Faculty of Medicine has thoroughly investigated all angles by examining evidence and documents and interviewing relevant witnesses.

Based on the evidence, the committee found that the violent behavior toward resident doctors likely constitutes a serious disciplinary offense. Therefore, to proceed according to legal and regulatory frameworks, the committee unanimously agreed to finalize the investigation report with evidence and submit it to Thammasat University for appointing a disciplinary committee to handle the case accordingly.

While the university proceedings continue, the faculty has issued a temporary order restricting the involved medical instructor’s duties in teaching, training, and evaluating resident doctors to prevent potential impact. Additionally, long-term measures include developing and reviewing a Code of Conduct, enhancing communication to ensure resident doctors, students, and staff are aware of and have safe, accessible complaint channels to prevent and address future incidents.

Regarding the case at Thammasat University Hospital Chalermprakiet involving abuse of authority and medical ethics in patient care, the fact-finding committee conducted a comprehensive investigation by reviewing medical records, surgical statistics, and interviewing involved parties including patients, their relatives, resident doctors, professional nurses, and related personnel.

The committee found that the accused’s behavior likely constitutes a serious disciplinary offense. Consequently, to comply with legal and regulatory procedures, the committee unanimously resolved to finalize the investigation report with evidence and submit it to Thammasat University to appoint a disciplinary committee and proceed accordingly.

During the university’s investigation, the hospital has temporarily restricted the involved medical instructor from patient care duties, suspending all outpatient examinations, new patient admissions, and all types of surgeries—including general, endoscopic, and robotic procedures—both during and outside regular hours (special clinics). The head of the surgery department has been instructed to transfer patients under this instructor’s care, including scheduled surgeries and follow-ups, to other qualified team members to ensure continuous, appropriate treatment without compromising patient rights.

Thammasat University Faculty of Medicine and Thammasat University Hospital Chalermprakiet recognize the seriousness of these incidents and prioritize the safety, dignity, and learning and working environment for all resident doctors, students, and staff.
