Kamphaeng Saen Police clarified the issue involving a taxi driver live streaming who claimed he was pushed and fell by police. They confirmed that officers only reached out to touch his arm to invite him to move to another area to avoid obstructing their work, and did not use force or cause bodily harm in any way. The matter is currently under legal fact-finding procedures.
Regarding the case where a video clip was circulated on social media under the title "Chaos at the Checkpoint Drama," showing a taxi driver live streaming the work of Kamphaeng Saen police officers enforcing traffic discipline during the New Year festival, the traffic officers noticed and invited the driver to relocate his live stream elsewhere. One officer placed his left hand on the driver's shoulder, and suddenly the taxi driver acted as if he fell down, loudly accusing the officer of pushing him, saying, “Why did you push me?” The police denied pushing him and said the driver fell just from being touched.
The latest update, reported on 1 January 2026, states that Kamphaeng Saen Police issued a statement clarifying the facts regarding the live stream incident at the checkpoint in front of Kamphaeng Saen Police Station.
On 30 December 2025, Kamphaeng Saen police set up a checkpoint to enforce traffic discipline during the 7 Dangerous Days New Year campaign 2026. While on duty, a taxi approached the checkpoint, and the officers stopped the vehicle. When the driver rolled down his window, the officers noticed he was not wearing a seatbelt, so they called for the vehicle to pull over to the side.
Another officer approached and confirmed the driver was not wearing a seatbelt, but the driver denied this, saying he had just unbuckled it. The officer intended to issue a warning, but the driver got out and asked who had seen him not wearing a seatbelt, demanding the police issue a ticket. The driver then began live streaming on social media from the checkpoint area, which was the officers' operational zone. The police considered this an obstruction of their duties and traffic flow, so they invited the driver to move elsewhere to avoid blocking work. When reaching out to touch his arm to guide him, no force or harm was used. However, the driver suddenly dropped to the ground shouting that the police had pushed him down, and subsequently filed a complaint with investigators. The case is now under legal fact-finding.
Kamphaeng Saen Police stated that their officers acted within their legal authority, laws, and relevant regulations, ensuring fairness for all parties involved.
