FacebookArmy Spokesperson Teamposted a statement saying, "The Army clarifies the case of a soldier assaulting a fellow private. The misconduct was confirmed, and disciplinary action has been taken. We emphasize that all personnel within the organization are like close colleagues in the workplace and must live together with love and unity, following the Army Commander's policy.
Regarding the video showing soldiers fighting and assaulting each other in public media, the Army investigated and found that the incident occurred on 7 Oct 2025 at the Service Company, Reserve Force Center, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province.
The incident arose from a fight between privates within the same unit. Afterward, one party reported the altercation to Sergeant Major Pitthapiboon Wiangin, a close acquaintance. Sergeant Major Pitthapiboon then attempted to mediate between the parties, but this led to another fight. The incident was captured in a social media video showing Sergeant Major Pitthapiboon becoming angry and physically assaulting the private involved.
Following this case, the Reserve Force Center formed an investigative committee and decided on disciplinary punishment against Sergeant Major Pitthapiboon Wiangin for assaulting a private, which violated regulations and disobeyed superior orders. This is a military disciplinary offense under the Military Discipline Act of 1933. The committee resolved to impose 45 days of detention and suspend merit benefits as per official regulations.
The Army reaffirms that all personnel within the organization are like close colleagues who must live together with love and unity. It will not tolerate anyone causing division or harm, in line with the Army Commander's policy. If any personnel behave inappropriately toward colleagues or violate regulations, military discipline, or national laws, the Army will take transparent and straightforward action against the offenders."
