A luxury Phuket hotel issued a statement apologizing over the incident in which the head of security used a master key card to enter a female DJ's room. The hotel affirmed it is not taking the matter lightly, is investigating the facts, and is reviewing and strengthening security measures strictly.


On 17 January 2026, a video was circulated on social media showing a female DJ staying at a luxury hotel in Phuket who experienced an unsafe incident within her accommodation. The perpetrator, Sgt. Kanisorn, 39, a former military officer and the hotel's head of security, surrendered to police at Cherng Talay Police Station and was charged with attempted nighttime trespassing, as previously reported.

Most recently, on the evening of 18 January 2026, the Facebook page of Holiday Inn Resort Phuket Surin Beach issued a statement expressing deep apologies for the incident, which affected the feelings and safety of guests.
The hotel emphasized it prioritizes guest safety and privacy above all and is not complacent regarding this incident.

The hotel has reported the matter to police and is currently cooperating with the ongoing investigation to ascertain the facts.
Additionally, the hotel is conducting an internal review and is reassessing and tightening security measures rigorously.
