Donations Surpass 1 Million Baht for Grade 11 Student Living Alone in Rental Room Supporting Himself

A volunteer announced the closure of the donation drive to assist a Grade 11 student living alone in a rented room, working to support himself, after generous donors transferred over 1 million baht, and provided details on account management.

On 19 Jan 2026 GMT+7, Facebook user "Meth, the Little Prince," a creator and volunteer with a foundation, requested help for a Grade 11 boy living alone in a rented room without a rice cooker or refrigerator, only a small 3-foot bed, who is hardworking and patient. He works daily part-time jobs earning 6,000 baht per month, paying 2,500 baht for rent, and saving the rest for small bags of rice to take to school. He remains uncertain if he will be able to continue his studies due to lack of money.

The boy's parents separated when he was in Grade 7. His siblings lived with their father, but after severe conflicts with his father, the boy moved to live with his mother. At that time, his mother worked in another province, providing inconsistent financial support and occasionally visiting. Feeling guilty, the boy told his mother he would find work to support himself. Since then, his mother has neither visited nor sent money. Regarding education, the boy is diligent, eager to learn, patient, hardworking, polite, and well-mannered.

Before posting the boy's bank account number to initially open the donation drive.

However, after one day, the Facebook owner announced the closure of the donation drive because generous donors had transferred over 1 million baht to the boy, and some even called to inquire about his story to offer further assistance.

Regarding this sum, Meth stated that the responsible government agency, the Nonthaburi Child and Family Shelter, will take over managing the boy's education and overseeing all donated funds. Therefore, there is no need to worry about the boy Boom having additional relatives, parents, or anyone else requesting his money.

Additionally, Meth said he consulted with the agency about dividing the money into two parts. One part will be deposited into a bank account in the boy’s name, with a note specifying withdrawal conditions. This account will serve as a life fund for the boy’s future education at the bachelor's degree level. Neither the agency nor anyone else can withdraw from this account except the boy himself, with the agency managing the account on his behalf.

The remaining funds will be kept by the boy for personal use, providing sufficient money for his living expenses. Meth believes this approach is correct and apologizes to those who disagree, emphasizing consideration, prudence, and the boy’s safety as priorities.
