No Need to Carry Documents: ThaID App Adds Gun License (Por.4) Viewing Feature on Mobile

The "ThaID" application has introduced a new feature that allows users to view their gun possession and usage license (Por.4) directly through the app, reducing the need to carry the physical document.


On 20 January 2026, it was reported thatthe Department of Provincial Administration fanpageannounced that the "ThaID" application has been upgraded to better meet users’ needs, offered as a generous New Year gift for 2026 to the public.

Previously, the app allowed viewing of five types of documents; now it has added two more important document types, totaling seven, as follows:

  • The gun possession and usage license (Por.4) can now be viewed directly within the app, reducing the burden of carrying the physical license.
  • Disability identification card: Enhancing convenience and flexibility in government transactions.
  • Previously available documents remain fully accessible: including ID cards, house registration, birth certificates, marriage certificates, and divorce certificates.


How to view the gun possession and usage license (Por.4) through the ThaID application:

1. Open the ThaID app and log in using your PIN or by scanning your face/fingerprint as previously set.

2. Select the Documents menu on the app’s main page to see images of various official documents.

3. Search for the Por.4 license by scrolling through the list of digital documents, which now includes seven items, one of which is the gun possession and usage license (Por.4).

4. View the data: the system will display an image of your license directly. This information is securely linked using your 13-digit national ID number to retrieve the data.
