
Rescue personnel from Don Taeng Subdistrict Administrative Organization assisted a 31-year-old woman in delivering a baby girl inside an ambulance en route to the hospital. Lottery enthusiasts flocked to ask for the vehicle's lucky registration number.
On 21 Jan 2026, according to a Facebook post,the Don Taeng Subdistrict Administrative Organization's rescue operation unitin Kamphaeng Phet province posted that at 09:15 on 20 Jan 2026, they received a report of a pregnant woman experiencing labor pains near delivery in Village 8, Don Taeng Subdistrict, Khanu Woralaksaburi District, Kamphaeng Phet. Rescue workers promptly dispatched an ambulance to transport the patient urgently to the hospital. However, during the journey, the woman went into labor with the baby's head emerging from the birth canal. A female rescue worker decided to assist with the delivery inside the vehicle, successfully delivering a baby girl at 09:28. The mother remained conscious during the delivery and both were subsequently taken to the hospital for further care.
Subsequently, reporters visited the Don Taeng Subdistrict Administrative Organization in Khanu Woralaksaburi District, Kamphaeng Phet, and met with Dr. Thanisorn Pongpitak-yothin, the chief of Don Taeng SAO, along with three rescue workers who assisted in the delivery. They explained they received an emergency call from a heavily pregnant woman named Ms. Sairung, 31, residing in Village 8, Don Taeng Subdistrict. They inspected her condition and rushed to the hospital, but delivery occurred en route. Another rescue worker recorded the event on video. This was the first such incident in the area, considered an auspicious event for Don Taeng SAO. After the story circulated, many people asked about the ambulance's registration plate, Kab 1653 Kamphaeng Phet.
Dr. Thanisorn Pongpitak-yothin, chief of Don Taeng SAO, said, “Our rescue vehicle has been in service since 22 Feb 2024 and has assisted over 300 cases. This was our first delivery inside the vehicle, a positive and auspicious event for our organization and staff. Since then, many have inquired about the ambulance's registration number for lottery purposes.”
Ms. Siraprapa Lueklam, 30, head of the Don Taeng SAO rescue team, said that upon evaluating the patient, she found the cervix fully dilated and the baby's head protruding more than 10 centimeters. She decided to assist with the delivery, which was successful. She described feeling very excited. The baby girl was born at 09:28 and was then taken to the hospital for further care. The mother was not shocked and this was her fourth child.
Reporters interviewed the mother, who is currently recovering at Khanu Woralaksaburi Hospital. Her daughter had just been taken out of the incubator and is healthy and strong. The delivery in the ambulance happened earlier than expected; she went into labor prematurely and called for emergency transport. Her original due date was about one and a half months away. This baby is her fourth child, and she has not yet chosen a name for her daughter.
