Social Security Begins Unemployment Compensation Transfers on 20 Jan 2026 How Insured Persons Can Check Payment Status

Check the status of unemployment compensation for insured persons to see who is in the stage of awaiting money transfer to their accounts, as the Social Security Office begins phased payments from 20 Jan 2026 GMT+7.

Ms. Kanchana Phoolkaew, Secretary-General of the Social Security Office, announced regarding the payment of unemployment benefits under the rights of insured persons in the social security system thatThe Social Security Office has started gradually transferring benefits to eligible insured persons since 20 January 2026 GMT+7, prioritizing those with complete information. Insured persons can check the approval status of their unemployment compensation via the Department of Employment's unemployment registration system, with details as follows.

• If the status appears as "Pending Review" It means the case is under verification by the Social Security Office in Bangkok and provincial/branch offices.
  
  
• If the status appears as "Reviewed/Approved" Insured persons should wait for the money transfer, which is being expedited in order. Once funds are deposited, the amount will appear in the appointment schedule for reporting.

The recent delays in payments were due to the Social Security Office upgrading and transitioning from a Mainframe system, used for over 30 years, to a Web Application to enhance service quality. During this transition, data processing for report submissions from the Department of Employment to the new system had to be adjusted.

Ms. Kanchana also assured that insured persons need not worry about data loss. The reporting data in the old system remains intact. Currently, it is being verified and migrated to improve the efficiency and stability of service systems.

The Social Security Office has set a framework to continuously pay eligible recipients and expects payments to begin from 20 January 2026 GMT+7. Insured persons encountering problems or issues can contact any Social Security Office nationwide.
