Mr. Jaturong Disappointed to Be Manipulated by Both Sides, Announces Withdrawal as Mediator

Mr. Jaturong revealed his disappointment at being deceived and used as a pawn by both sides, affirming that he will end his role as mediator in the Lawyer Kaew case.

On 23 January 2026, Mr. Jaturong Jongasa, former advisor to the Commission on Religion, Arts, and Culture of the House of Representatives, clarified the situation regarding "Lawyer Kaew." He confirmed that he was not the one who contacted the victim's father; rather, Lawyer Kaew called him first. He emphasized that he does not personally know the victim's father, only acquainted through a mutual private lawyer. The matter arose from conversations within social and drinking circles that included the victim's father. The information he received was broad social talk passed along before he posted a message intended as a "probe."

Mr. Jaturong stated that after his post, Lawyer Kaew politely called and requested its removal, so he deleted it. At that time, no news pages had expanded on the issue. However, later both he and "Noom Kanchai" faced heavy criticism, despite not defending Lawyer Kaew but only insisting everything proceed through legal channels. He reiterated that Noom Kanchai instructed him to act straightforwardly as a mediator, with Lawyer Kaew responsible for any wrongdoing.

Regarding contact with the victim's family, Mr. Jaturong confirmed he never called the victim's father, only communicating via chat messages. He admitted there were several discrepancies between the two sides' facts, especially Lawyer Kaew's inconsistent statements between mediation talks and later press briefings concerning "feeding" and "hugging and kissing," as well as the incident location. As mediator, he observed that the interview content did not align with prior confirmations.

Mr. Jaturong explained that while serving as mediator, he coordinated discussions between both parties, who showed strong emotions and feelings. Lawyer Kaew was highly stressed, calling daily, while the victim's father was explosive emotionally. The daughter experienced depression whenever Lawyer Kaew appeared in media, prompting Mr. Jaturong to explain those were old footage.

On financial negotiations, Mr. Jaturong revealed the amounts fluctuated from 2 million to 2.5 million baht, with talks even reaching 3 million baht. He personally believes the victim's family is not primarily seeking money but wants Lawyer Kaew to face consequences and take responsibility. He views money as merely a condition, reflecting their anger and desire for justice and satisfaction, since the victim's father had once deeply admired and been a devoted fan of Lawyer Kaew. The breakup caused intense hatred and desire to destroy.

Mr. Jaturong added that he was unaware the victim's father's private lawyer had already filed a complaint, despite prior promises to inform them in advance so Lawyer Kaew could prepare. He admitted Lawyer Kaew frequently asked him to contact the victim's father's side, which caused Mr. Jaturong's image to be perceived as aligned with Lawyer Kaew, compromising his impartiality as mediator.

He emphasized from the start that the facts from both sides do not match, and neither side possesses crucial evidence such as dashcam audio or chat messages that have been deleted, making it impossible to clarify the truth conclusively.

Ultimately, Mr. Jaturong stated that after the woman filed a complaint, he is uncertain whether he can continue mediating and is likely to end his role, as both sides may no longer want his involvement. He feels deceived and admits this experience has made him wary of serving as a mediator. Although he tried to provide a platform for negotiation, the outcome was not as hoped, but he believes he fulfilled his role fully. He expects the matter will now be resolved in court.

Finally, what worries Lawyer Kaew most are: 1. Fear of the law, 2. Fear of his workplace, the Lawyers Council, 3. Fear of his wife, and 4. Fear of his grown daughter. Mr. Jaturong has observed that Lawyer Kaew has lost composure and is not himself.
