The Social Security Office clarifies the case of insured persons receiving 150 baht unemployment benefits and confirms full payment according to criteria.
Regarding the case circulated on social media about an insured person who came to receive unemployment compensation as scheduled but was paid only 150 baht and believed they had not received unemployment benefits from social security for over two months,
on 26 January 2026, Ms. Kanjana Phoolkaew, Secretary-General of the Social Security Office, stated that upon fact-checking, it was found that the insured person misunderstood their benefit entitlement. The insured person checked their latest reporting period through the system and saw "1 day 150 baht," leading them to think they were entitled to only that amount.
Meanwhile, the Social Security Office verified that the insured person falls under the responsibility of the Social Security Office Bangkok Area 2 and confirmed that the insured person is entitled to full unemployment compensation for three installments totaling 6,900 baht, covering the period from 17 November 2025 to 1 January 2026. The payments are divided as follows: first installment from 17 November to 1 December 2025, 2,250 baht; second installment from 2 December to 31 December 2025, 4,500 baht; and third installment on 1 January 2026 (1 day), 150 baht.
The Social Security Office Bangkok Area 2 has arranged for the insured person to collect the remaining payment on 27 January 2026. After receiving this clarification, the insured person understood the correct and complete information.
However, the Social Security Office apologizes for the inconvenience and misunderstanding caused by this case and reaffirms its commitment to providing all insured persons with accurate, transparent, and fair services. The office will also improve communication to ensure clearer information is provided to insured persons going forward.
