AirAsia clarified that flight FD3116 from Don Mueang to Hat Yai on 17 January 2026 was delayed due to coordination and communication errors among ground staff.
On 28 January 2026 AirAsia Airlines explained the case of flight FD3116 operating the Don Mueang Airport (DMK) to Hat Yai Airport (HDY) route on 17 January 2026. The flight was scheduled to depart at 07:10 and arrive at the destination at 08:45, with a total of 136 passengers on board.
Investigation found that before departure, coordination and communication errors among ground staff led to incomplete passenger boarding. To ensure all passengers could reach their destination safely and completely, the captain decided to wait for the remaining passengers, resulting in a departure delay of approximately 36 minutes.
AirAsia apologized for the inconvenience caused and has conducted a fact-finding investigation, adhering strictly to company regulations. The airline has also implemented oversight measures and improved operational procedures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
