Social Security Accelerates Unemployment Benefit Payments to All Insured Persons

Social Security has expedited the payment of unemployment benefits to 208,404 recipients and confirms insured persons have received full payments.

On 1 Feb 2026, Ms. Kanjana Phulkaew, Secretary-General of the Social Security Office, stated that the office is continuously providing unemployment benefits to affected insured persons to alleviate hardship and build confidence in the social security system.

Previously, delays in unemployment benefit payments occurred due to transitioning and upgrading the new processing system. To urgently resolve this, the Social Security Office instructed provincial offices to mobilize staff to quickly review and approve pending unemployment cases, extending working hours from 6:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., enabling approval of more than 35,000 cases daily as targeted.

Between 8 and 31 January 2026, payments were transferred to 75,387 insured persons totaling 190,071,088.15 baht. On 2 and 3 February 2026, 133,017 insured persons will receive unemployment payments via banks amounting to 428,082,248.60 baht. The office will continue to expedite benefit disbursements.

Nevertheless, the Social Security Office reaffirms its commitment to fully protect insured persons' rights to ensure payments are made accurately, transparently, completely, and fairly.
