The Meteorological Department forecasts the weather during "the 2026 election day". It states that rain will start arriving on 7 Feb in the Bangkok area during the evening to night, but it will not be heavy.
On 8 Feb 2026, election day, rain will develop around noon or afternoon and may continue into the evening. The rain will move continuously rather than staying in one place. Most will be light to moderate showers. Citizens are advised to bring umbrellas and rain protection on election day. The recommended time to vote is morning to noon, when rain chances are lower.
Northern region: Light rain may occur in some areas including Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Phayao, Nan, and some neighboring provinces.
Northeastern region: Light rain in lower northeastern provinces such as Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram, Surin, and Sisaket.
Central region: Especially in lower central provinces including Kanchanaburi, Suphan Buri, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Songkhram, Samut Sakhon, Ratchaburi, Uthai Thani, Saraburi, as well as Bangkok and its metropolitan area.
Eastern region: Rain is expected in almost all provinces with a 30-40% higher chance of rain compared to other regions, particularly in Chonburi, Chanthaburi, and Trat.
Southern region: Rain will focus on central to upper areas including Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, and Nakhon Si Thammarat. The Andaman coast will experience less rain.
