Mourning "Director Sasiphat Sinsohm" Director of Patong Prathan Keereewat School was shotSeriously injuredAfter an attacker stormed in, took hostages, and has now died
In the case of an armed attacker entering Patong Prathan Keereewat School in Patong Subdistrict, Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province, the assailant shot people at the school, injuring them, and took children hostage. Authorities later controlled the situation and arrested the attacker, identified as a 17-year-old local youth with a history of psychiatric treatment related to substance abuse, discharged from hospital in December 2025.
Those injured includeda total ofthree people: 1. Mrs. Sasiphat Sinsohm, Director of Patong Prathan Keereewat School, was shot in the left chest. Officials took her to Hat Yai Hospital where doctors performed surgery and closely monitored her condition. 2. A 15-year-old female student was shot in the left waist and was taken to Songklanagarind Hospital; her condition is initially stable. 3. Another female student was injured after jumping from a building to escape and is under medical care at Songklanagarind Hospital.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education's Facebook page also posted"Condolences on the incident and the passing of Director Sasiphat Sinsohm #PatongPrathanKeereewatSchool"
Online, many posts expressed sympathy and tribute to the director for her heroic act of protecting students’ safety at the cost of her own life.
