
Tragically, the owner revealed the cause of death of "Nong Molly" after enduring the toxic effects of her wounds for several days before passing away peacefully, while police are urgently pursuing the perpetrator for prosecution.
The case involves a 2-year-old female Siberian Husky named Molly who was cruelly assaulted by an unknown perpetrator who poured gasoline over her body on a street, then set her on fire. The fire engulfed her entire body before she ran home, still aflame and severely injured. The incident occurred near Ban Laem Kwan, Soi 4, Phawong Subdistrict, Mueang District, Songkhla Province, on 14 February 2026. Molly was then transferred for treatment to the Prince of Songkla University Animal Hospital (PSU) in Khlong Hong Subdistrict, Hat Yai District, Songkhla.
Later, on 19 February 2026, the owner disclosed that His Majesty King Vajiralongkorn graciously accepted Molly under royal patronage. "Tomorrow (20 February), the royal secretary will come to take Molly from the PSU Animal Hospital to continue treatment in Bangkok to ensure she receives the best care possible," the owner said.

Most recently, Mr. Somchai Chanawanno, 52, revealed that Nong Molly passed away around 6 a.m. today after enduring the effects of her wounds for several days and fighting to survive, seemingly waiting to see him first. He and his wife cared for her daily, but she ultimately passed peacefully due to complications from bloodstream infection and internal organ failure. He expressed deep gratitude that the King took Molly for treatment in Bangkok after learning about her condition and following her progress closely.
Regarding the case, investigators from the Songkhla Provincial Police, Mueang Songkhla Police Station, and forensic teams have urgently begun tracking leads on the perpetrator. After completing procedures at the PSU Animal Hospital, Molly’s body will be cremated today at Laem Pho Temple, Koh Yo Subdistrict, Mueang Songkhla District.
