National Police Chief Urges Swift Investigation and Arrest in Abuse Case of Dog Molly in Songkhla Province

The National Police Chief has urged an expedited investigation and the pursuit of those responsible for the abuse of the dog "Molly" in Songkhla Province, emphasizing strict and fair enforcement of the law.

On 21 February 2026, Police Lieutenant General Chaitphojan Suwanrak, Commander of the Personnel Office and Deputy Spokesperson of the Royal Thai Police, stated that a criminal act involving the cruel abuse of a dog has deeply disturbed the public and attracted media attention. The perpetrator doused and set fire to a Siberian Husky named "Molly" on 13 February 2026 within the jurisdiction of Songkhla City Police Station. The dog later died as a result of the abuse.

Police General Kittirat Phanphet, the National Police Chief, has instructed the Commander of Region 9 Provincial Police and the Songkhla Provincial Police Commander to closely supervise and monitor the investigation into this case. He ordered a swift investigation and the arrest of the offenders to ensure effective law enforcement, transparency to the public, and adherence to the standards set by the Royal Thai Police.
