Nam NitchananFormer People's Party MP candidate reveals the casePrivateA 22-year-old private died mysteriously while detained in the Military Circle Prison. Relatives found several suspicious points: no medical records or X-ray reports were shown. After cremation, ashort spoonwas found mixed with the bones.

On 22 Feb 2026, reports circulated widely online when a Facebook userNam Nitchanan Wangkahatformer People's Party candidate for Chonburi district 10, posted that at a military camp in Prachinburi Province, a 22-year-old private died on 11 Nov 2025.

He was punished for overstaying at home and was sentenced to 15 days in the Military Circle Prison. On the 10th day, he collapsed, had convulsions, and lost consciousness. Fellow detainees administered first aid and took him to the camp hospital. Doctors declared no pulse. The prosecutor ordered an autopsy at Chaophraya Abhaibhubejhr Hospital, where doctors reported an abnormal enlargement of the heart muscle with blood congestion.

Relatives' observations and doubts

1. The camera angle at the scene did not show what happened, only people running to assist.

2. Two out of nine detainees questioned gave inconsistent statements, and CPR was performed incorrectly.

3. After the situation calmed, a bell was rung to signal guards to bring him to the hospital.

4. At the hospital, doctors declared him dead, but when prosecutors asked when and where he died, no one answered.

5. Relatives were asked to leave the room and return later; questions arose about what happened to the body.

6. Before cremation, the cremator cleared the body by tapping with a stick, suspecting something hard blocking inside the mouth, but did not probe further—only expressed suspicion.

7. After cremation, a short spoon was found among the bones. Relatives are seeking DNA testing on the spoon and wish to avoid involvement of the investigating officer. They are uncertain about the test results and request recommendations for testing locations.

8. No X-ray reports were shown to indicate if anything was inside the body, only autopsy results were provided.

9. In a military group chat, it was said that there was 'pig training' which caused the death at this prison.

10. The medical treatment records have still not been provided by the hospital. Relatives contacted officials who said the director has not signed them yet and a committee must be formed first; they asked to set a date.

11. The army is urged to clarify the doubts and reveal the truth.

12. The media is asked to closely follow this case and support the private's family. The family permits posting photos publicly and disclosing the private’s documents.

Any updates from the army or the relevant authorities will be reported again.
